A Microsoft Press Release said New York’s IT industry has announced that they expect the launch of Microsoft Windows Vista to have a huge financial impact on the market.
Within the first year of Vista’s launch, New York’s IT industry will be seeing a big jump in new jobs and revenue; “Windows®-related employment in New York is expected to jump by more than 16,000 new jobs.”
Windows Vista, along with Microsoft Office 2007 were made available to Volume Licensing customers on November 30th, but the two products are said to be available to the public on January 30th.
Vista should have a very wide range of customers, ranging from Mac-users (Vista is able to install on Macs now since Apple released Boot Camp back in 2006), photo editors, gamers, and more.
The press release also stated “We expect that in the first year of Windows Vista shipments, this ecosystem will sell more than $7 billion of Windows Vista-related products and services in New York.”
