Stardock has been working on Windowblinds 5.5, a fu
lly Vista-compatible version of Windowblinds. It will be available for Object Desktop and registered Windowblinds 5 Enhanced users only.
Windowblinds features over 5,000 skins made specifically for Windows XP, making it hard to make them look Vista-native. To fix this problem, Stardock is introducing SmartSkinning(tm). This introduces new technology that can automatically convert pieces of skins to work with Vista’s new interface.
Another part of Windowblinds 5.5 that makes it different from any previous version, is that i works with Desktop Window Manager (DWM). Other than porting Windowblinds to Vista, they need to make it work with Microsoft’s new 3D accelerated desktop that Vista uses. It allows Windowblinds to use less energy, and optimize performance.
