New iTunes & QuickTime Update

author alang

Yesterday Apple released a new version of iTunes (7.1) and QuickTime (7.1.5).

New iTunes 7.1 features:?

  • Ability to watch Music, Movies, TV Shows, and more via Apple TV (iTunes 7.1 is now fully-compatible with Apple TV, Apple’s latest multimedia product shipping in “Mid-March”)
  • Improved CoverFlow allowing users to view in fullscreen and now offers track Rewind, Pause/Play, and Fast Forward (fullscreen mode only).
  • Improved sorting options allow users to better-sort their libraries to find songs more quickly and easily

“iTunes is the world’s best way to organize and enjoy your personal digital music and video collection with your Mac. iTunes is also the easiest way to sync music, videos, and more with your iPod.”

New QuickTime 7.1.5 features:

  • QuickTime 7.1.5 introduces many critical security flaw fixes, as well as numerous bug fixes.
  • If you are upgrading QuickTime from a previous version (e.g. QuickTime 5, 6), QuickTime 7 will automatically disable any Pro functions so you must purchase a QuickTime 7 license.

“At its simplest, QuickTime is software that allows Mac and Windows users to play back audio and video on their computers”

And don’t forget to mention that iTunes 7.1 and QuickTime 7.1.5 do now work with Windows Vista!

@nico - iTunes 7.1 and Quicktime 7.1.5 work with vista and so far I’m not having any problem

@hehe - currently, it is still not compatible with multiplugin. Please uninstall multiplugin first before installing this update.

@ Alang: That was exactly what I said in my comment above. The exclamation mark was something like “Yeah, finally :DDD” because I had problems with synchronizing my iPod with iTunes 7.0.2
