The makers of the Modbook sent out an email to the customers that have preordered the Modbook to let them know that it may be shipping by the end of June. They also upgraded the sensitivity level from 256 to an almost Wacom-like 512, making it a much better value. And as one more added bonus, they added the option of subbing the optical drive for a second hard drive giving it a capacity limit of 500 GB (!) and an optional 3gb of RAM as well (the previous RAM option limit was 2gb). Now the ModBooks come with the added speed of the Macbook speed boost added recently. So fully loaded it has 2.16 mhz Core 2 Duo, 500GB HD, 3gb of Ram and of course since it’s from Axiotron, a GPS module. That’s a pretty decent tablet at a not so decent price ($3,322 fully loaded with 1-year warranty!!!) . Now if only it was convertable like every other [insert explitive] tablet on the market, we’d all be a little happier.

what does apple say about this? i love it probably will get it…but will wait for 2 years…apple is bound to release their own.
Apple is bound to, yes, but the market’s been open for 10 or so years now and they’re still not in it. Personally I like tablets, but I’d need the keyboard in order to buy this thing. I’d rather just go out and buy a basic Macbook then upgrade it to 3 GB of RAM and use that, cheaper and practically better. I’d simply buy a tablet USB instead.
I wonder if this is work-efficient. Even though the company does claim to have high precision in those pens, the fact is still pretty shaky. I would rather get a macbook.
@william,
That’s what I’ve done (except the 3GB of ram).
