Make your Windows desktop look like a Mac desktop for free

Flyakite OS X 3
There is a program available for PC users that does for free what Windows Blinds charges for. It is known as Flyakite OS X 3. This product has been around a while, but I feel that enough people don’t know that it exists. Windows Blinds is a great software for customizing your Windows machine, but Flyakite is designed to specifically emulate Mac OS X. Also, let’s face it, free is better.

Especially when free means a totally stable emulation program with no noticable bugs. The attention to detail is nothing short of mind-blowing. Even solitaire is overhauled. The installation is totally customizable via a series of categorized checkboxes.

If you want the full Mac experience (save the window control buttons being on the left), leave all the boxes checked. You can pick and choose what tweaks you would like, and I recommend chosing RK Launcher instead of ObjectDock in the software section, just because it is nearly identical to OS X’s dock and even includes the ‘minimize to dock’ option.

So to anyone looking to do a near-total Mac emulation for free, download Flyakite OS X 3.5 . You can search for it and find it in our download section.

An untrained eye will not be able to differentiate between a Windows desktop skinned with Flyakite OSX and Mac OS X itself. More people should know about this program. So, when people ask, “How can I get my PC to look like a Mac for free?” direct them towards Flyakite OS X 3.5 . It is free, stable and bug-free. Out of five, I would give it 4.5 and that’s just because the Window control buttons are on the right, and not on the left as they are in Mac OS X.

It looks like a mass of text without breaks, hard to follow. I can see paragraphs, but since there are no spaces breaking them up, it makes it hard to recognize.

For a blog post, I’d use several paragraphs with spaces breaking them apart from one another, that way it looks better, is easier to understand/read and is more intuitive, just like Mac OS X.

I meant short paragraphs, no more than four sentences usually.

I love RK Launcher too, it’s way faster than ObjectDock. Except that…in a lot of apps, even with the black triangle underneath indicating that it’s running, when I click on it, it bounces instead of bringing that app to the foreground. Example:

Windows Live Messenger is running, and it shows the traingle in RK Launcher. I click on the icon to bring it to the foreground, and it bounces up and down, acting as if it were launching the program fresh.

Does anyone know a fix for that? Apart from that bug, RK Launcher is PERFECT!
