Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard 9A559 Gallery

author alang

Think secret has released a latest Mac OS X gallery. There are seems a little changes on this 9A559 version compared to previous build 9A527. A new design graces the window of the installation disc and new music plays during the intro movie, but most changes are generally not noticeable. Nonetheless, virtually every application and utility included with Leopard sees newer revisions with 9A559.

Front Row has seen a substantial face-lift with 9A559 and along with getting its own icon in the Applications folder, like Dashboard, Expose, and Spaces, the interface now resembles that of AppleTV.
Preview has been bumped from version 3.5 to 4.0 for the first time in build 9A559, although the only apparent change has been the addition of Bookmarks, which function similarly to a Web browser, but on a local level. Bookmarks can be set for images or PDFs, including a specific page of a PDF.
Also completely revamped in 9A559 is the VoiceOver utility, which gains Braille support and other features for the first time in Leopard.

Other smaller changes include the addition of a couple new space-themed desktop pictures, although the tiger stripes and leopard print pictures from Mac OS X 10.4 have been removed. System Preferences sees some new icons, and Dictionary and Directory gain high-resolution icons in the Finder, the last two components to gain the improvement.

Still missing in build 9A559 are new screen savers that were included in earlier Leopard builds, while ZFS support is still absent from Disk Utility in 9A559. Support for resolution independence, which has rudimentary support in Tiger and had been rumored to be arriving with full support in Leopard, remains no where to be found.
