LED backlight treatment to come to Macbooks.

According to “industry sources” of Digitimes, Apple’s consumer-level MacBooks will be receiving LED backlights along with it’s pro-level MacBook Pros. LED backlighting means nothing more than longer battery life and a brighter screen.

In a letter about it’s changing environmental policies, Apple stated that it would be implimenting LED backlighting into its computers to reduce its use of mercury in its products. It had already all but been confirmed for the MacBook Pro, and now DigiTimes says that LED BLU’s (backlighting units) have been confirmed for the MacBook line as well. Now the only question is, “When?”
