A new bug that allows a hacker to use speech recognition to run malicious programs on Windows Vista has been created.
A few weeks after Vista’s launch and there is already a problem? Most secure Windows version ever, I think not.
The honeymoon ended early for Microsoft’s Vista operating system, after word spread about a flaw that could allow remote attackers to take advantage of the new operating system’s speech recognition feature, a process nicknamed as “shout hacking.”
This potential security flaw was discovered after an online discussion with blogger George Ou to try and figure out a speech-based hack. Ou reported on ZD Net on Tuesday that he ran the hack, and was able to use the Vista Start Menu and run voice commands played over the computer’s speaker system.

I’ve been having nothing but problems watching streaming video on my PC since upgrading to Microsoft Vista.
Ever since I upgraded I can no longer watch videos on http://www.dailymotion.com nor http://www.freepornvideos69.com (NSFW!). All I get is a blank screen where the video should be.
However I CAN still watch videos on Youtube. What is that all about? Is Youtube using some different method of delivering videos?
I know there must be others out there that are having the same problem as I. I would appreciate any suggestions.
I can live without dailymotion, but I can’t live without my daily dose of porn!
Thanks.
Which is why I’m waiting on Vista ^_^
What’s the point of getting Vista when there’s OS X Leopard waiting for you out there?
Not a bug, just an exploit in social engineering. A bug implies there is code that broke something.
