Mac style top menu bar?
First post. 8D

Hey. First of all, I'd like to say congrats on the excellent site. This site is excellently designed and the content lives up to it's great looks.

Not sure if this is the right place for it, but onto the question.

I am using flyakiteOS X 3 and I love it. But I ended up just using object dock to hide the task bar, and it is working out all right but I would like something to replace it. Something with the finder, file, edit menus and stuff. Anything?

Use Finderbar http://landvermesser.tripod.com/index.html.

Its an excellent alternative - not strictly as accurate as ObjectBar but very well designed and a wonderful tool. You use in conjunction with his other apps

Re: Mac style top menu bar?
Isn't there a bug with Objectbar and ObMod that allows you to use it unregistered? It's not even illegal to do that, as far as I know...

Finderbar is okay if you only want the looks. It latches a dummy Finder Menu to your existing taskbar but doesn't show the menus of the programs you run. It looks good, of course, and can fit any theme you're using. But, imo, it only reduces the functionality of the existing taskbar without adding any.

Awesome. Thank you very much, Raats. Ojalord, I'm sure that was what pearce was hinting at, but if it's not illegal, and not against the forum rules, I'd like to hear more!

Edit: I got it working, and it is awesome!
