Installing FlyaKiteOSX for a single user account
I'm interested in installing flyakite but I know that it replaces certain system files. Is this simply like the UXTheme patcher or something different.

What I really want to do is have a user account to test it out on and keep it simply on that account and have my normal theme (luna vx) on my normal user account. is this possible?

Re: Installing FlyaKiteOSX for a single user account
Of course it is possible. As U said, Flyakite replaces system files with Mac OS X resources such as icons and toolbars. The main visual style is instaled trough the uxtheme.dll hacked file, wich means you CAN use other VS in any other account, but the replaced system files will show the macish stuff: Icons, About box, the toolbar, etc.

If use flyakite fully installed, you can use other VS in other accounts and replace the icons with icon packager, replace the toolbar with YZToolbar or StylerTB. Give it a try, I'm sure you will like the look of your macish windows when you install Flyakite..

Welcome to osx-e, thelost.

Re: Installing FlyaKiteOSX for a single user account
Let us know if you have any problems or bugs in that. I use two accounts, one with macish look, another with vista look. For the hard work, I use another partition with a clean windows installed without any mods. It works perfectly.

Re: Installing FlyaKiteOSX for a single user account
the only noticable problem so far is that tooltips pop up behind the windows task bar on my main (non-aquafied) account. This isn't much of a problem.

I notice that explorer is altered for all users, I guess I kinda expect that. It's slightly annoying as it's inconsistent as my normal theme is luna VX and the two styles don't merge well. I guess there is nothing to be done about that unless I reinstall flyakite and specify it doesn't alter certain system files like the explorer. swings & roundabouts.

Overall I'm pretty pleased I gotta say.

I assume Icon packager allows you to change icons on a per user basis?

Yeah, IconPacker works with per-user settings, styler and Visual Styles too. Even WindowBlinds.

Re: Installing FlyaKiteOSX for a single user account
thought I would keep further questions in this thread.

As I said before mouseover tooltips now appear behind the windows taskbar on my normal account, I thought this wouldn't be annoying at first but it is proving to be. Does anyone know how to fix this?

That's what it looks like. ^^^

Also I just installed the very cool NeXplorer as I just love the apple finder functionality. However the folder icons look very jaggy, I'm guessing people have experienced this before.

That's what it looks like ^^^

I guess I need to change the icons for certain files. Which icons do I use and where are they available?

Re: Installing FlyaKiteOSX for a single user account
2 question!

1. Use this png http://img334.imageshack.us/img334/3...sutilities.png

2. rename it "folder"

3. move it here "CProgram Files\NeXplorer1.90\Skins\Panther\"

4. delete "folder.ico" in "CProgram Files\NeXplorer1.90\Skins\Panther\"

done!
