hey guys I'm trying to connect this new sony camcorder i got to my pc. I hooked it up with usb and i tried to edit the files in windows movie maker but the files were .VOB, .BUP, and .IFO and apparently windows movie maker doesn't accept those...so then i tried putting the disc directly into the pc and same thing....then i put the disc back into the camcorder and finalized and tried both but still the same thing...please help me! i need to figure out how to edit this video.

I think you need to import all those files first before you can start editing. After importing, all files will be convert to windows compatible format so you can edit it.

Vob, bup and ifo files are of the dvd format. As alang said, you'll have to import them into WMM and then edit. Or you could use another "specialist" dvd video editing app.
