256MB or 512MB Graphics Card
I'm about to purchase an HP dv9000t notebook computer and my dillema is whether or not to buy the 256mb Go Geforce 7600 or the 512mb Go Geforce 7600. It says it is discrete memory and I was wondering if that means it is not shared. I don't want a shared card because that tends to lag so bad. I'm not very familiar so can someone help me out here.

Thanks!

Re: 256MB or 512MB Graphics Card
Depends on what you need to do.

For games (e.g. Crysis, Armed Assault) go with the 512MB, same with Photoshop and/or other photo/video editors.

For casual use, 256MB is fine.

If you can, get a better video card or wait (I'd advise you wait until there is a DirectX 10 compatible video card for notebooks).

Yea that's what I'm thinking too. I thought and thought and was like I'll just wait til a DX10 Mobile card comes out. I also found that Asus makes a pretty amazing gaming laptop for a really great price too.

Re: 256MB or 512MB Graphics Card
great choice with the HP, that's the same model I have. I opted for the 512 just because it makes life easier and its much easier to handle when you are using a modded interface. However, if you really want, you can wait. It will probably be worth it.
