Questions, questions..
Do we help?
Each person has their own opinion on this subject, and perhaps, the admin appear to be less involved in the community in terms of giving one to one assistance.
The trouble is Time. This isn't our paying job. We work elsewhere to make a wage to feed and clothe and house ourselves, we devote time when we are free to just keep the place running out of courtesy. We do not make one red cent from this site. Google ads and money out of the Site owners pocket keeps this place alive. One might say that this site serves no purpose, but taking a look at the logs each month, or even weekly, shows us that this isn't the case, our bandwidth goes through the roof. People come here and browse and download, and we do have our supporters, from when the site was in it's infancy, to it's current manifestation.
So, osx-e does serve some purpose.
So just what are we then?
We too are just computer enthusiasts that dabble in skinning and modifying our Computers at different levels. Some of us use XP and some of us use MacOS and even other OS'.
As much as we would like to know everything about everything in the customization world, we don't. It's as simple as that, but, there are other active members who are up to speed on the current apps and skins currently available, and, if they use these items, can give an insight on the aspects of their usage.
We run a site so other individuals interested in changing the look (and to an extent, the feel) of their computer. There are times, however when disgruntled would-be skinners gripe about a skin that doesn't function in a certain way or a program that won't do what they would like it to do. But hey, that's the way of the world.
Most people have either accepted that fact, or if they have some knowledge of the application skin builders or programming language, they may attempt to push the boundary of what is achievable by those tools. Or by using the software here, one may inadvertently make the switch to the operating system they are trying ever so diligently to emulate.
What the hell?
We also do not guarantee that an item that you have downloaded from this site will function as intended on your computer, in the same respect that software companies state that they are not liable for anything that may happen to your computer upon installing said software etc. We simply do not have time to go through each and every single item to give it a test-drive, and review it, if you will. What we endeavor to do is get the software to you virus and trojan free. It is then up to you, the end user.
We always forward people to offsite links.
On quite a few occasions, this has been true, as in our Judgement, the information on the other end of the link would most likely provide the poser of the question the answers they require. These may lead to other community sites such as Aqua-Soft or Neowin. It is usually there people post news on releases, happenings and a lot of help threads on the programs and applications created by members in the community.
When I ask a question, I feel like I always get the Brush off.
Please don't take it personal. there are many posts made and quite a number of times requests are repeated, and I'm afraid to say, decorum flies out of the window if one is faced with dealing with the same query for the umpteenth time, but we're all human and flawed. if you look about, you'll find that we don't close all threads. Information is passed between people here.
I'm so frustrated at how Windows can't mimic Mac OS X properly.
We're afraid that's as good as it's going to get at this current stage.
If it eats way at you that much, perhaps you may consider actually switching to the Mac OS platform. The entry level model comes at a reasonable price and given one's resolve and determination, an individual can usually find (legal) methods of funding such an endeavor.
Aww man, entry level machines don't have Core image. I want that cool ripple effect in Dashboard.
If that is indeed the one item you must have, you will need to purchase a higher-end Machine that supports the technology.
But I have this PC, with keyboard, Mouse & Monitor here, that I use for Games/Video Editing/3D/other. I don't want to get rid of this stuff.
With machines like the mac Mini, there is a possibility of using a switcher to enable yourself to go between the mac and the PC while using only one keyboard, mouse and monitor. plus it doesn't take much real estate, roughly about the size of a 10 Pack of CD-R's. Plus there are now devices that allow you to secure your Mac safely under your desk, leaving you with all the room you need. We have seen the same happen with iBooks too, but to be safe, if this is the move you intend on taking, our suggestion is that you go and check it out at Apple retailers.
My life's messed up and I need advice!
Sorry, but osx-e staff are not counsellors, nor would we ever try to be. there are organisations for such things, please direct your queries there.

ps, it's spelled counsellor. and if you do have a discussion you want to have that isn't related to aqua emulation you can start a new thread in the general discussion forum, even though we do prefer the threads there to have something to do with tech or the internet or apple computers we don't mind the personal threads either
