I am glad to be back
Hello everyone,

I am not a new member. I have been here for almost two years. I was registered here earlier as "applemaker". But after sometime I could not log in. I am very sorry if I had done anything wrong and banned for that reason.

And Yesterday I created a thread in the “General Discussions”.
It is here: Spotlight on Windows XP

Unfortunately I forgot to paste the description of the image I posted and MadMacs closed it. I am sorry again for that.
That image is here:

It is the spotlight clone I am developing. I thing it is the only spotlight clone with the exact GUI of the original Macintosh Spotlight.

Sorry for that misunderstanding. I thought it was someone tying to say:
"look at my desktop I have spotlight, amazing hu?"

Looking good there mshiva, when are you planning to release it?

It is still under devolopment, it currently only acts like Spotlight, but cannot search. But I will add the searching support soon.
But as of now, it has a perfect looking, bug free, neat and original GUI. It can search the keyword in Google Web Search.
I will give the current alpha GUI-only version, if anybody is interested.

Well it's either use the stable Google Desktop Search API or write your own search system from scratch....

No it does not use GDS. I hate GDS. I am currently using an indexing engine, written by my father a long time ago, but it is not very stable and can index only text files. And I promise never to use GDS indexes and capture 50mb RAM in everybody's PC.

The current program, without the indexer can be downloaded here. Please go through the Readme.
