Actually, I did see those but I'm looking for stuff like the Start and Shutdown sounds. Thanks though.

Well, with a Mac those are about the only sounds. When you first turn on the computer (before it boots up), Macs play a very cool sound, but no log in, or log out, or shutdown or anything like that. Just the "alert" (as it was called above) sounds ( and you have a lot to choose from by default).

Yeah, the Mac's sound theory is different from the way Windows implements its sounds. There is a single standard alert sound and not startup/shutdown sounds. As for the famous boot chime, it plays about a second or two after you press the on button. I found a recording at http://www.whitwell.ndo.co.uk/musicthing/s.../macstartup.mp3

EDIT: Oops, Opera bug gives me a wrong link... I replaced it with the correct one.

For those of you who need to convert the sounds to .WAV format, you can try using RiverPast Audio Converter. They have a free trial, and the only limitation I have seen so far is that they limit the length of the files converted to 2 minutes per file, which is not a problem here.
