decompress flyakite...
Hey folks!

First of all thanks for that great piece of art named FLYAKITE.
But currently I am having serious trouble installing it..
the problem is the following, my system is already "pimped" ;-) Several Icons are changed in the system (shell32.dll, explorer.exe) uxtheme.dll is already patched, as I am using alternative Visual styles created by myself and so on..
So the installation of flyakite already errored two times and the result was an unbootable windows system..
As I deinstalled the Restore-Point Ability of WinXP (yes I know, it was a mistake but too late) I am not able to restore my WinXP so I had to reinstall it.

Another Problem is, that the CD that I am using to install WinXP is also changed (with the help of nLite) sothat my patched shell32.dll and explorer.exe and VS and so on are already running when instaling WinXP, so I do not have to patch them after installation.

The fact is: I canot get flyakite to install on my system. So I would like to install at least the icons (all the *.cpl and *.dll files) my myself.
Is there any possibility of just decompressing these files, so I can replace the odd WinXP Stadard ones by hand?

thanks for suggestions ;-)

-->Stefanotis

In the Flyakite setup, there are detailed settings where you can select exactly which patches and dll files to patch. That way, you can deselect the files that are already patched and cause problems (including shell32.dll and explorer.exe). I don't think there's any need to manually apply each patch, even if you succeed in decompressing the pack.
