volume control
first i hope im in the right section for this question, which is, is there any way to make the volume control turn all the way down when i shut off my computer. every now and then i forget to turn the volume down when i shut it down and get a real loud surprise when i turn it on. i have a power mac g4 with osx tiger, thanks for any help.

I researched and I couldnt find anything related to this problem. Maybe an applescript that turns down the volume when and shut down the mac could work, but I dont have idea how to do that.

Here ya go.

I made two versions:

Shut Down and Restart.

They will automatically set your volume to the lowest setting and either restart or shut down your computer. When you get to your desktop, your volume will be turned down. To get sound, just turn up the volume rather than muting/unmuting it.

I tried both, they work. Your May might pause on the startup screen a couple times, but it will go right to the boot screen after a few restarts (did that for me).

they work but i have to click on them to turn my computer off or restart for the feature to work. am i suppose to put this folder somewhere to make this automatic or am i suppose to leave these icons on the desktop or put them in the dock and use them there.

You can just put them anywhere you want and double click them to shut down/restart. Maybe it is possible to automatically mute while you go to Apple > Shut Down. I'll see what I can do
