Re: Is my iPod dead?
i was just kidding but today i got the first sign that my ipod will survive cause today i turned it on and the apple logo appeared and then a sad ipod face appeared saying apple.com/support/ipod so i asked my dad(the apple genius) and he said that i should give it more time and that it will heal, btw radioshack is suposed to give me a new ipod and just for the record there are no apple stores here on puerto rico only resellers

Re: Is my iPod dead?
Go to iTunes 7 and do a "Factory Reset" (might be something else, but should be pretty similar).

Re: Is my iPod dead?
Next time if that will happen first you should do - unplug the battery. Then dissasemble the iPod if you are capable of doing that. Let the parts dry completely for couple days, make sure they are dry before putting them all together. Should work fine.

Re: Is my iPod dead?
I think your warranty has already been voided, Their not stupid they will be able to tell that you've played around with the settings on your ipod. And there is probably obvious water damage inside!

Re: Is my iPod dead?
Ooopsie-s That will teach you to take better care next time, iPods are not just toys, they are expensive technology, and that's how they should be treated. For your little mistake you will have to pay big bucks (well..depending on your budget) to replace it, since I highly doubt that it will recover.

Re: Is my iPod dead?
wow u guys are so positive!!!

for ur information today i just went to radioshack

1- they didnt even noticed anything on the ipod

2 they told me to leave it another week to dry and that if it doesnt work they will replace it with a new one free of charge cause, first i have my warranty and obviousley the modding doesnt matter duh! and i got the radioshack care plan when i bough my ipod which replaces my ipod with a new one and i still have 1 year left of my care plan so i dont really need to worry.

what im trying to say is that when something is damaged or broken u dont have to throw it to a wall like zartheit or just be very negative about it. but i stayed positive and look i left my ipod to dry for 3 days and now i can connect it to my computer and atleast use it on itunes so is getting much more better by the time

there always hope for anything.

Re: Is my iPod dead?
Hmmm Indeed but I dont think replacing a void iPod... reminds me of my story!
I have a black PSP and I loved it alot!
One day a friend of mine threw a stick and broke the screen....
I knew the warranty was not going to cover the broken screen so...
I noticed that if the psp was off you would never be able to see the broken screen...
So I decided to carefully use a blower to be able to remove the warranty seal without causing any damage to it and later one disconnecting the PSP PowerBoard... IT WORKED!
But I dont think replacing an iPod is that easy...

PS: BUT somewhat this post appeared one day after I posted it! What the heck!? Congratulations DERO!
