Melted??? Really? Wow, that's weird man, sorry. Anyways, I google it for you and I found this article. I hope that is of some help to you. Regarding the info you said it was on the pc, you better hope and pray that the melting of the screen did not damage the HD, because if it did, you wont be able to recover it. Talk to the Apple tech support if you still have guaranty with them and they for sure will help out and probably replace it, if you have still guaranty.

Dude, I am really sorry about that and I hope you can get that fixed and recover your info. Keep us posted on any updates.

Screen melting on a Mac? Power surge maybe?

I'm sorry about that happening to your Mac, hopefully nothing else got damaged.

And yes, the Mac store should replace it. Just make sure you still have a warranty and that it covers this type of problem.

If the HD got damaged, it would be a lot of money to save that info onto another drive, because they need to take it to a clean room to do it (You know, those "one peice of dust every 1000FT").

And how did it melt? E.g. quickly, slowly in one spot etc.

Re: Help My Apple Screen
Ouch, I'd hate that happen to me. Definately, take it back to the AppleStore. You'll get it replaced, no questions asked.

Re: Help My Apple Screen
Yeah, the best option is to take it to the Apple Store and they will replace it free of charge, although I'm not so sure.

Just take it down there and see, at least then you'll know one way or another. Good luck.

Re: Help My Apple Screen
whoa! That's weird! I've never heard of that before. I wonder if it was a power surge. Make sure you always have your computer plugged into a surge protector. Maybe that was one reason for the recent upgrades to the iSight iMacs.
