Re: Computer Parts
So far they are ok to me, just one suggestion on the optical drive: think about wether you want to just get a dvd/cd-rw combo or a dvd-rw/cd-rw combo. As you know, the last one is more expensive, but you could use it to burn dual-side dvds or single dvds too. Also if you plan to put the pc on your bedroom, consider wheter you want to have the case lights or not. When I bought mine I did not take this into consideration and I ended up disconnection all the lights because the did not let me sleep. So, think about it!

Re: Computer Parts
I have a little doubt about motherboard: I prefer ASUS brand, so I suggest you to get A8N-SLI if you want SLI motherboard.

Re: Computer Parts
What do you need that machine to? It is a VERY powerfull workstation, but if you need it for playing games... sh*t. Get an XBOX360 or a PS3.

Re: Computer Parts
Yeah the xbox360 I think should only be played on a HD TV and plus here in the UK the games are £50 each!
Can't wait for the ps3 though, but I think it's going to be prity much the same story

Re: Computer Parts
I gotta agree with Khalua and MadMacs that if you want a good gaming platform go ahead and buy the xbox 360 or preorder the new PS3 which will be really good. For the motherboard, I am also a fan of ASUS. They do really good motherboards. I am very happy with the one I got for my custom PC, which is an Asus P5WD2 Premium that supports HT, dual-core, front side bus 1066/800/533, 8GB DDR 800/667/533 ram max, .... for the full specs just do a google search on ASUS P5WD2 Premium, and you will see it.

Re: Computer Parts
I don't like Consoles. I have to pay for Multi-player and I also want really good graphics (PCs are ahead of consoles).

And I'd have to buy all new games, too. And also, my family wouldn't even let me have one when I was younger so my hopes aren't up much, but it'd still be good for parties.

I've heard the Asus were good, I'll look at the other motherboards. I'm not very fimiliure with MOBOs.

I'll use this computer for the latest games with the best graphics.

E.g. Battlefield 2, Call of Duty 2, F.E.A.R., Doom III and Half-Life 2.

How about an Asus P5LD2 Deluxe : http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...547346&CatId=0

I don't need to worry about getting an SLI-ready motherboard, I'm not sure I'll get two video cards in a while. If I do, I'll just upgrade the rest of my PC.

And the CPU (used to be AMD 3800+): http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...?EdpNo=1477439
