You can restart and shut down your PC quickly if you press the SHIFT key while you click "turn off" or "restart". THis can screw your app settings, like rklauncher, avedesk and objectbar changes, coz windows kills the process instead of closing it "softly".

About my internet page fonts tweak, it will affect ANY program that uses the Internet Explorer engine, like User Accounts, Yahoo Messenger (Inside Yahoo! window, the special tab-based thingy at the bottom) and dot, dot dot.

If I format my harddrive will I lose everything and if I don't have an XP disk will I be screwed? I'm just wondering because I probably could use a nice reformat.

Well, if you format a hard disk (or a partition) you will lose all your data. You better backup all your documents, pics, music, vids, installers, etc.

Once you format your HDD, if you dont have the xp install disk you wont be able to install any system in your PC. lol.

Oh darn...I have so much stuff that I'd need to back up and/or reinstall. Namely...Games. But I'd bet I'd run sooo much faster. Then I'd have the joy of re-emulating yes! I'll just put all my files on my 30GB IPOD. Then Just load them all back on lol.

I don't think emptying the prefetch folder is a very good idea. Yes it does lessen the boot time (by a few meagre seconds) but it also lengthens application load times by more than a few meagre seconds when you add them all up, :lol:. A good idea to decrease boot times is to use MS Bootvis to optimize boot files. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=664

Also use of a good registry cleaner, I use Regcleaner (http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-dow...cleaner4.3.htm ), it's free and fast. It also works well in conjunction with CCleaner.

Using a launcher application like Colibri or Launchy (can be found in the downloads section, here) also helps you to save time.

I've found a good reg tweak that adds the 'show hidden files" option to the context menu of folders. Very useful, esp. if you've hidden the menu bar in explorer and even otherwise, The file is attached...
Also, this app adds tab functionality to the good old Explorer (not IE). Yay! http://quizo.at.infoseek.co.jp/freeware/indexEn.html
