Hey I heard than perap pc released PPc v5.0 which supports sound (www.pearpc.net) but the sound doesn't work for me (the icon in the osx toolbar is showing MAX!!

Please help becuase i need to use garageband!!!

Put the .kext into your Documents folder.

Start Terminal and do this, make sure you press your Enter key after each step!

Also, when you open a Finder window, there is a folder with a House icon and your name to the right of it.

On step 3, where it says "YOURNAME", type in the name that shows up next to the House icon in Finder.

Mine, was Linwe. So I typed in /Users/Linwe/Documents etc.

1: sudo -s

2:<type your password>

3: cp -R /Users/YOURNAME/Documents/AppleAC97Audio.kext/ /System/Library/Extensions/

4: cd /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/

5: kextload AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext

6: rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

7: kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

Exit Terminal (Terminal > Quit Terminal)

Reboot, sound works!

Where can i get AC97.kext

You can't, its copyrighted. You'd have to get it with a new computer.

I'm sure PearPC uses a totally different driver and codec for sound than a real Mac does.

@Linwe, take Apple3Com3C90x.1.kext out of that .RAR, it has a copyright stamp belonging to Apple.

Go to the PearPC forums and ask there (link above), plus Osx-e doesn't offer much software support. Also, getting AC '97 would be getting copyrighted files made by Apple.
