It's going to take some getting used to. It doesn't compare in looks to the Pro Mouse. Strange that they couldn't make it look better. But it's about time Apple released a new model to satisfy the need for a more powerful device. Features include left and right click, a 360 degree scroll button, and two side buttons that actually work, not like its predecessor's. The price tag is $49, compared to the opening price of the Pro Mouse (it's now just called "Mouse") several years ago at $59, now reduced to $29.

I'll wait for the hardware reviews to see what they say. If they come out with a wireless model, I'm sure Bill will get it. But as for me, I'm keping my one button device with me.

EDIT: Now they say that it's officially compatible with Windows XP, though Apple mice almost always have been.

I read about this earlier on. I think i looks pretty sexy, and i'm adding it to my "To Buy" list for after i get my gal the Mac Mini :Tongue:

One thing I noticed in the design is the sunken Apple logo (as opposed to the gray colored one). Could this signify a change for future Apple products?

That logo reminds me of the old design back in the day of the beige G3's (Yes i had one)

Well, I tried one out today at the local apple store,
they sold out the second they got them,
but fortunely they kept two for trying out.

The scroll thing is just a ball sticking half way out, that can be clicked in,
Reminds of a ball point on a pen.

Horizontal scrolling hurt my hand in safari for some unknown reason,
but it was incrediably smooth in other apps.

The side buttons have two be pressed at the same time, it seems.
The scroll ball clicks in easily, but doesn't seem easy to accidentally press given its small size.
