As many of you may know, the osx update 10.4.2 includes a new widget manager, which allos you to disable and enable widgets. Here is a first look screenie, which (belive me) will be requested many times.
#1 is the new widget itself (im yet unable to locate it in the finder, so no icons for it)
#2 is the dashboard with the widget on it

So... there is still a widget dock, but this is there too?
If you can pull the resources and send them to me (in .zip), I'll see what I can do.

The point is that I don't know where they are. They are not in /Library/Widgets where everything else is held. I'll venture through the OS to find them.

In response to your question, as you can see, the widget dock exists, but the button that says "more widgets" that used to be on the right is now replaced by the one which says "manage widgets" on the left. That new button opens the Widget Manager, which is the widget you see above. you can also drag the manager out from the dock like any normal widget, but you can only have one Widget Manager open at a time. If you try to open another one, the Widget Manager's dock icon won't produce the Manager again, though it will be highlighted black like any normal clicked dock icon. And as you can see, the close button on the Manager is inside the widget itself, not attached to it, so you can close it at any time. The two options to sort by are name and date. The "more widgets" button opens a new Safari window and takes you to apple.com widget downloads site.
PS Thank God for the weather report... it hasn't rained here for ages.

When the widget manager disables something, does it close it, or when you try to open it, it just dosn't open?

In response to your question .Mac, I have included a couple of pictures of how I installed and Managed the very useful "Air Traffic Control" widget. Before you install it, it brings up a window asking you if you want to do so (pic #1). Then it brings up the Dashboard and "previews" the widget, again asking you if you want it(#2). The next picture, as you see, shows the widget active on the Manager, with a red "Do Not Enter"-style sign next to it (the reason this didnt show up the other timw was that I only had the default system widgets installed). After that, the next picture shows the widget disabled (as you can see, the widget is no longer on the Dock, but it still exists). Enabling it will make it show up again. Whenever, you enable/diasble a widget, the dock closes if it was open. When you want to delete a widget, press the red button, it will bring up a question such as the last picture shows.
