I'm trying to learn java in my spare time. I'm gona try do do something similar to the spotlight emulator in the download section. (thought of the widget finderbar idea befor it was subitted)

But yea i think widgets could solve alot of our mac emulation problems. just wait till ave desk 1.4 comes out. it will have a widget dock and some beautifull effects. (i saw a demmo) Ave desk is the da bomb. *salutes to Ave*

Even though they are not Mac OS X-ish, some Widgets that come with Yahoo! Widget Engine have a feature where you can Log In to Yahoo! and view notes, addresses, and how many e-mails you have. Oh yeah and there is a PIM Overview that also comes with that.

@iNinja: Why not Flash? I'm not saying Java is bad or anything, but Flash has Flash Movie creator programs.
