Can anyone make a widget such as this one, which is a Terminal-style widget?

Is there any way for a developer to tap into the DOS core of windows in order for this widget to work?

Actually, I think that would be an easy job to complete. I might know someone that might be interested in picking this up. I am too swamped to bother. But will let you know.

Now this would be a very nice idea. Perhaps it could simply run cmd.exe but simply lay a nice skin over it? IMO that shouldn't be too too hard for a good widget maker. But you see, I'm such a Konfab newbie that I'm still in the nursery as far as programming widgets goes. So maybe ghosty or someone could pull this off.

If the developer will only skin cmd.exe to look like the widget, mabe the developer should also make a Terminal app?

^True, but making the special Terminal app would be the really hard part, it seems.
Unless you mean a program that skins cmd.exe itself as well as allows a widget to hook up to it. That might not be a problem either.
