I remember that on the older site there were three little apps that logged out, shut down, and restarted with a mac-style window. They were probably never popular, because you needed a special dll file to run them, but I once downloaded them and got them to run because I knew where to download the dll. They were gorgeus. Well anyway, I think these three trinkets should be re-uploaded to osx-e.

Dremation has a little shameless behaviour in the past
If you can provide me with screenshoots of the logoff/restat screen, I will design one that does not require any external file or libraries...and it will give me something to do.

The problem is that you'll need a pulsating aqua "Shut Down", etc. button which I know exists in Ave Forcequit. The time for each window is 2 minutes.

but anyway here are the screenies. they have shadows like any other window. the archive contains them all.
if you want a real challenge, if an app wants you to save something, the shutdown or whatecer process is halted and a window appears such as the ones with the purple "I". The OK button there is also pulsing.

I now remember the dll file. It was pclp32.dll.

Question
There is a way to get the pulsating aqua button in vb without using the banned AquaControls. Here is the info for it Dremation, go and check it out. Sorry, but I can't tell you for sure if it works on vb6. I do know if works for vb.net becuase I use it on the About screen in my Tiger Calculator Clone. But anyway, you don't loose anything by checking it out and trying it, and also it is completelly free. On this page there is an explanation on how to do it yourself, as well as 2 attachments: source and demo. All you have to do if you don't want to redo what they explain there is import the control to your vb toolbox and drag it to the form, and bingo! You got a pulsating aqua button without getting into problems!

I hope this info helps out, any help just let me know.

Oh and heres another window which works if a program is not responding. it always says "Logout" insteadof Restart etc. There could be many versions of such windows, but I dont know. pulsing button as well.

The thing is that I don't know the concepts and triggers behind the 4+ "I" windows because their terms are very generic. check the Apple HIG for more information?

I would leace those windows out of the program until i understood how they worked. Or I could be mean and randomly cancel shutdown with them
