As the topic says, everytime for the past couple of days, when i go to a file in the download section and press download, it takes me back to the home screen. I am using Mozilla v 1.0.6. I tried to download it with internet explorer and still no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

the problem is because of your firewall. If you have personal firewall installed, make sure that you have osx-e.com in your enable list. Or you just can disable firewall whenever you want to dowload files.

That is correct. Please disable your personal firewall for the duration of your downloads. I also had this problem a few weeks ago, but it was solved thanks to alang!

Also, I was using ZoneLabs ZoneAlarm and ended up uninstalling it completely because of my lack of usuability on the internet.
