I love flyakite, but, whenever i had it installed then if i either did a clean up with a registry cleaner - registry mechanic or regseeker-, i somehow always seemed to have some kind of computer issue(s).
Right now i only have window blinds running after a clean format/reinstall of xp-pro(sp2).
Question is, how deep does flyakite get into the registry?
I ask this 'cuz before after doing a registry clean i never got past the apple logo on reboot and it happened after i installed flyakite (which sucks cuz like i said, i do like it)

From what i know, flyakite rewrites or shoudl i rather say hacks some of the system directory files like shell32.dll that kinda stuff. so it coudl be due to the registry cleaner you're using that could be casuign the problem. You could try using the built-in updating application to try and clear up the mess if you can get windows running till your desktop.

Alternatively, you could just stick to UX Theme patcher, Iconpackager and Raduking's dock and still get some decent aqua look. Its just that Iconpackager and windowsblind as you know, are 3rd party applications, they are not very friendly when running stuff like Illustrator and all. As for the logon screen, try Googling or the program by Stardock ( i forgot what it is called) shoudl do the trick.

Quill, never knew of an updating part of Fly'...maybe ill give it one last go, i just found too many quirks that would happen occassionally, here and there. It wasn't a bad experience altogether, just annoying sometimes.
Right now i'm just using windowblinds and that's it. Don't think my computer has run this fast on start-up or any other time in ages.
So ill wait till Fly' 3 comes out in the next month and see/hear/read the reactions about it.
But thanks for the reply, appreciated it

Quick question about iconpackager, how bad/good is that in terms of registry entry.
Heavy?Fairly heavy? or Light???
