I did a stupid thing with AveDesk. I had only two desklets on my desktop and I was going to remove to clean my desktop up some more. When I did that I relized that now I couldn't add anymore desklets or docklets because I turned off the system tray icon too, and I couldn't do anything about it! So I deleted my AveDesk folder and downloaded, installed it again but nothing worked. Even with the new AveDesk program nothing worked! Whats wrong? I can't do a system restore because I just cleaned some Malware Trojens out of my computer and a SR would just mess it up again. Help me!! Thank you. Where did you download the new avedesk? It should work because all the setting is stored in avedesk folder.

I got it at Aqua Soft because I couldn't use Osx-e for a while for some reason but I'll go download it from here.

I had this problem a couple of months ago.
Open a text editor (notepad or whatever) and type this out:

Dim aveDesk ' as AveDesk.Application
set aveDesk = CreateObject("AveDesk.Application")
aveDesk.ShowControlPanel

Then save it as a .vbs file (name it AveDesk_ControlPanel.vbs or something).
Once you do that, double click on the file and it should open AveDesk's Control Panel, thus letting you add desklets and change global options =)

make sure you have ave desk running before you use the script that donkey posted otherwise it wont pull anything up

Umm I tried what you said to do, donkey but it didn't work. Typed what you said to type, whats wrong?

Try to copy & paste the script.
Did you double click on the file?
Did you save it as a .vbs file?
You can save it as a .txt file and rename the extension to .vbs.

copied and pasted it didn't work.

saved it as a .vbs script didn't work

renamed the extension didn't work.


I get a Windows Scrip Host message saying
