I just had to ask. I mean, sure Multi-touch is great, but that can be put into, say, a computer with a touch screen. What's more, I've heard (from the articles on this site, in fact) that a lot of the world doesn't need it. So, why is it that Apple has realeased it if it's not needed?

Then there's the Apple TV! I mean, it's just meant to be an iPod that hooks up to your TV. Big whoop. You can do that with a regular iPod!

Anyone else have views on this?

P.S. If you haven't noticed, the iPhone is the reason Leopard was delayed until October!

There's no real kick to be got by criticizing it in detached manner, detached as in from you. It's the thought of holding one in your hands and then discussing it in an assumed detached (or not-so detached, by personal preference ) manner that gives the real kick to people. I see... But that doesn't mean that Apple can just brush off the fact that it got Leopard delayed. I know they included a message about that on their news, but other than that, they haven't mentioned it much.

Why does it matter if it got Leopard delayed? As far as I know, I am not going to get my hands on an iPhone or a Mac (Tiger or Leopard) or an iPod, for that matter, in the near future; not even somebody else's... So Apple can delay anything they want, as long as they do delay the repricing of their products, I don't give a hoot

In fact, that's only a small factor. The major reason is much more universal. Apple products are expensive, the world over. I just can't afford to own a higher end one. I'd much rather buy a high-end PC than a low-end Mac and experiment with OSX86. Some of my friends own an iPod. Some of them will get the iPhone. But not me..At least, not in the near future

I'm afriad that I have to agree on that point. I have an iPod. It's great. I'm in south africa and I don't know when it will arrive here. But I can't wait!!!
