@OS69, while I'm not a programmer at all, I do appreciate the work Chris does on Flyakite. Flyakite, personally, has never messed up my computer. As Dustin Mays said, just follow the instructions and you'll be good to go (like, do NOT install it on a 64-bit version of Windows, and don't install it on Windows Vista. Those directions are there for a reason).

Anyway, Ekisho is a great icon pack. If you don't know how to install it, follow these directions:

1) Install IconTweaker http://joost.endoria.net/home.

2) Download the Ekisho icon pack.

3) Extract the Ekisho icon pack to a folder (ie C:\Icons).

4) Open up IconTweaker. Click on Icons. You will see a bunch of icons laid out before you.

5) Double-click on one icon (ie My Computer) and you will see a window called "Icon Organiser." Click on the Open icon. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the icons.

6) Double click on the icon file you wish to apply to the existing icon.

7) Repeat these steps for each icon you wish to change.

8) Click "Apply" then "OK."

Excuse me - but Chris kite is a clean, precise and thorough programmer. I have been using Flyakite for years, and have personally seen him attend to every last detail before releasing the software. If you are having problems, it is not caused by Flyakite, but probably "flushed out" by Flyakite. If you have substandard parts, you can expect substandard performance - and the problems related to that can not be put on Flyakite, when all is said and done. I have never seen an update phenomenon as you described - one has nothing to do with the other. It is a series of painstakingly created GUI mods, that DO NOT overwrite Windows files, but redirect the displayed files to a hidden directory containg the Flyakite files. This leaves the Windows system files absolutely untouched. I would like to know what the connection to an update could be, bearing that in mind. I am not in the employ of Chris Kite, or in any way affiliated with his work - but I am a programmer and NLDA Engineer who knows clean code when he sees it. I have also exchanged enough email with him to know the level of his programming expertise. I hope you get this straightened out - to all who are thinking of using Flyakite - do so with confidence - carefully, and you will be just fine (sans loading it on a 5 year old eMachine...)

The icons are beautiful - thank you and pardon the well deserved rant.

OT: Flyakite is safe to use, if you follow its instructions and install it only on supported versions of Windows. I used it when I last had Windows, and I'm considering installing it again once I get Windows installed on my MacBook Pro. >:) (I know, blasphemy. I need games, though. :|) And no, the Windows version of this icon pack isn't like Flyakite, they're just loose icons you apply manually.

Back on-topic: Great icons. :) I agree with IDIOCYX, I'd love to see a guikit in this style.

Some files are corrupted for me. Reason?

To install, I used a icon tweaker program, for example from www.stardock.com > CursorXP. Or Advanced System Optimizer...
