Add Mac OS X Style drop-down menus to your Windows Taskbar. Now with custom submenus support and with italian localisations.
Notes to the version 1.5:
1. This version have new command “SendHotkey” - it sends custom keys ans strings. You can send to the active window, as examples, Ctrl+Ali+Shift+r or the string “Hello world!”. The strings and letters can be automatically localised, see detailed info in the help file.
2. Commands “SelectMenuItem” and “SelectMenuItemNumber” gets access to standard menus of target window. Note, that some “toolbars” menus are not accessable. Use the command “SendHotkey” for those menus.
3. Command “RunPath” starts any executable, shortcut or document. Use it with full path to the target file as “hotkey” (parameter).
4. If you add you code in the file plugins.ahk , it will be executed. Use it to add your new subroutines (as new “commands” for Finderbar)

i’ve downloaded the software a few times but the installer is missing?? i can not install the software because of that. can anybody help me please…
ok i’ve solved the problem.. thank you for your 1.3 stable.. i love it so much… brilliant work.. 4.95 is my vote for this.
I can not get the installer either all the files extract fine but no way to actually get the bar up there.

Here you can download the newest version (now 1.4): http://landvermesser.tripod.com/index.html In the future, you can download newer versions also on that page.
I prefer the versions without installer, you can let them start with windows by adding a link to the finderbar.exe to your “autostart” folder in start-menu.

You should take the quick launch toolbar off, then it should work better, but a better theme for the start menu would make it look more realistic, I can e-mail you a better theme sometime maybe. But, that’s what’s wrong, the quicklaunch is in the way.

I’m Having a problem with this… The text and menus apear, but they are on top of a windows taskbar, with the windows symbol and the quick start beneath… I have already puted the font finderbar.ttf as font for menus… ¿Any idea on how to solve it?

When I was on my desktop, I went to “view” then clicked on “as columns” and now all of my desktop icons are messed up, so I clicked on “view as icons”, but they are still icons, just messed up, how do I get them back to regular icons??? Please help!
When will we be able to change the font of the bar? I’ve noticed that the font is Arial, and I’d like it to be Lucida Grande. (Sorry to be picky, but I noticed that before…)
You can edit the font
Just open “Finderbar.ini” with Notepad and look for the font. You can change from Verdana to any other font! That’s what I did

and download the zip file called TraSw it’s a mini-app that will sweep your taskbar of any running task buttons on it, and if you place it on the startup folder it will do it every time you start windows.
They should really make a link to that app on the FinderBar site itself because I even tried looking for an app that even costs money before called CleanTaskbar..let’s jsut say it worked horribly. You had to actually click on a button/icon on ur systray to clear away the taskbar, nd any time a new app would be opened you had to click it again! LOL. Waste of time. Just use hits litt eMINI-app which is MEGA handy oh my
Lanvermesser, idk if this is on purpose, but if u click the extreme top left of ur screen while running FB, i tbrings up the start menu. Just thot id tell u.
