EFiX OSX Bootloader Review

author Bentz

EFiX has released their Boot Processing Unit (BPU) that allows you to boot OSX on many PCs.  It has been reviewed by a number of different sites, and seems to work almost flawlessly right out of the box, assuming you have supported hardware.  The hardware compatibility list can be found here.

All you have do is buy one of these USB drives for $169 from EFiX USA, plug it into an internal USB header on your motherboard, boot up, and select the EFiX drive as your boot device.

In our opinion, this is better than running a Hackintosh because everything works so well, and probably better than buying an actual Mac because you can put together a supported PC for well under $1000 (including the EFiX drive), rather than shelling out $1500 or more for a Mac.  If anyone does buy one of these drives, please comment here or post your review in our forums.
